Happy Birthday Toni!

This is one of my favorite cards from Toni.
She has so many great ones it was hard to narrow it down!

I’m lucky enough to get to craft with some very sweet talented friends on a regular basis and let me tell you it is awesome, they are all very inspirational to me.   We are celebrating Toni’s birthday today.  I fell in love with Toni the minute I met her.  She is funny, extremely talented, smart and just all around a cool chick.  We share a habit too, well more than one but this one some would think is a bad habit.  We swear.  We are good at it too!  We are both no-nonsense a say what we think and we seem to work very well together as she is the design team coordinator for my shop. She is one of my go to people when I need advice or just want to think out loud. She (& Amy) inspired me and actually physically helped me clean my craft room, which is a VERY big thing.  Long story longer, Toni is awesome and I am so glad I can call her my friend.

This Concord & 9th stamp is going to get a lot of use by me.  It is from their newest release and I love that it fills up the front of the card.  The sentiments that are in this set can stamp right over the top or you can cut them out or stamp them below the flowers and it works no matter what you do.  It reminds me of Toni as she always seems to come up with a way to make things work.  :)I stamped the image with versafine ink after memento started to bleed and the versafine worked great!  I watercolored the panel using Zig markers and I think it turned out pretty nice.
You should have arrived here from Kimberly’s blog your next stop is the fabulous Lisa!

Toni, wishing you a very happy birthday and a year filled with love and laughter!  (and lots of crafting time!)

Time for the Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop!

This month’s inspiration photo:

Supplies:  PTI Black Cardstock, Quilled Elegance, Embroidered Blooms;
Zig Markers, Watercolor paper, Wink of Stella

I found lots of inspiration from the artist’s website but everything I made looked messy to me so I went back to my old standby of clean and simple.  This was my first attempt with the Zig’s and so far the Zig’s are winning.  I need to practice with them, a lot…  I used them here without water.

Thanks for stopping by and happy hopping!

Calm Sea SC126

This week we have a beautiful inspiration photo:

Here is my take:

I can’t seem to get enough of the Adventure Awaits stamps set.  It is a great all around set.  I made this background with dry watercolor paints but you could make it with your SU ink as well.  Water color a few base colors and then to get the spots put ink on a clear stamp block, add your water and you can either flick it off the block or load up your brush and drip it in the spots where you want spots!

Thank you for stopping by and I can’t wait to see what you create!

Time for the Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop!
This month’s inspiration photo:
Supplies:  PTI Black & White Cardstock, Graceful Greetings Stamps & Dies,
Mighty Bloom Die; Ken Oliver Merlot color burst; watercolor paper

The shapes in this die kind of reminded me of the inspiration photo shapes.  If I were to make it again I think I would try it on a colored cardstock and see how that looks.  Today over at StampNation, Maureen showed a technique that when I saw it I just had to give it a try!  I love how it turned out and I think the PTI Graceful set fits perfectly on the layout.

I made a stencil out of an acrylic sheet, placed it on a piece of watercolor paper, sprinkled the paint over it and spritzed it with water.  This is the best watercolor I have done!  I love to paint but I’m not all that great at it and this way it turns out good!  🙂
